Rules &
Frequently Asked Questions
|
Rule #1 |
My one and
only rule is NO DIRECT
LINKING/HOT LINKING! What does that mean?
That means do no directly link to my images or zip files
from your website, forums, mailing lists, etc. If you
want to show my pictures directly without directing them
to my main site, then download the image to your
computer and upload them to your own webspace (there's a
number of free hosts out there that you could use, but
I'm not going to do your work for you so find them
yourself!). I don't mind if you directly link to any
html page, it's just when I find a whole load of people
linking to my image files... it makes me quite mad. At
one point direct linking caused me to take down my site
so I would not go over my bandwidth... so it's just not
a good thing to do people. Don't steal my bandwidth. |
I’m a big
blowhard, and I write a lot of crap… go and wade through my
nonsense to see if I already answered a question you want to
ask.

Q: |
Can I use your images for a layout/wallpaper/skin/etc.? |
|
A: |
Ummm… yes. The whole reason this gallery is up. You
don’t need my permission to use any of the images in
graphics (wallpapers, skins, layouts, etc) and feel free
to upload them to your own site (but no direct
linking!! Download the image to your own computer then
upload it to your own host, don’t steal mine!). If you
want to upload them to community website, I don’t really
mind (but don’t claim they are your images either). |

|
Q: |
Do I need to credit you for using an image? |
|
A: |
Nope. It’s nice if you want to, but I don’t think it’s
necessary... I didn't draw it, I just scanned it ^_^. |

|
Q: |
Can I request a gallery? |
|
A: |
You can, but the chances of me putting it up aren’t
always great. Some people ask for very specific things
that I simply don’t have and won’t get. Remember this
stuff costs me money, and I’m not rich $_$* |

|
Q: |
What happened to [insert gallery title]? |
|
A: |
All galleries are now available in zip files for your
downloading pleasure. |

|
|
Q: |
I have extra space, would you like me to host you? |
|
A: |
While I appreciate the offer I must politely decline.
I’ve had a bad experience with such a set up and I would
prefer to remain independent. I really do appreciate
all the generous people who have asked me though ^_^.
By all means you may take one of my galleries and put it
up on your own site/host. |

|
Q: |
Can I donate a gallery? |
|
A: |
Thus far I’ve only had one gallery donated by me, which
was the Azumanga Daioh calendar that my friend
Ming-Ling/Tama-Neko so generously sent me. I will most
likely not accept such donations unless I personally
know you ^_^*. |

|
Q: |
Why aren’t you updating as often? |
|
|
I’m busy. I easily get caught up in whatever is
going on in my life at the moment whether it's personal,
professional, or recreational. |

|
Q: |
What do you use to scan?/How do you scan? |
|
A: |
Currently I'm using an Epson Perfection 3170 Photo
Scanner. Sometimes I get asked how I scan larger things
like posters, and here's the gist of it, I do multiple
scans and piece them together ^_^*. If you want the
longer story here it is... I use a piece of cardboard
covered in black (from an old black binder I cut up),
and I use that to make the poster flat against the
scanner bed (usually it goes up at the ends because
scanner beds aren't completely flat). I make multiple
scans and have a fair amount of overlap between them.
Once everything is scanned I start to piece it together,
to start I put two pieces of the poster on a large
enough canvas then lower the opacity to about 50% on the
top layer. After lining it up (sometimes I need to
rotate one layer to fit properly) I add a layer mask to
the top layer and take away what I need to make it line
up properly. I continue to do that until it's all
done. I typically use 3 scans for a regular foldout
poster, and 8 for the large posters. I've heard several
other ways to do it, but I use the method that works for
me, just find what works best for you too ^_^ (cause my
way tends to be more complicated then necessary). |
